Our History
We are The Smith Family in Greenville, North Carolina. Our backgrounds are in the Engineering and Healthcare Industry. While our professional lives are rooted in science and service, our home life as always revolved around animals.
Our journey with miniature schnauzers and schnoodles grew from a lifelong love of dogs. Years ago, our family bred boxers on a small rustic farm. Although that chapter eventually came to a close and the old kennel is now just a memory, the passion for raising intelligent, beautiful dogs never left us.

Today, that passion has found its way back into our lives through the joyful, spirited personalities of miniature schnauzers.
Our Present
Our family is composed of two protective staffies (Bella and London), one sassy toy schnoodle (Windsor), and nine clever miniature schnauzers (Camden, Sloane, Marlow, Savile, Selby, Piccadilly, Marble and Poppy).
Selby is proudly a Smitten by Schnauzers original.

Living among fields and farmlands gives our dogs plenty room to explore (and burn off their schnauzer energy). That said, they are very much part of our family and spend most of their time indoors with us. Our dogs are healthy, well-loved, and never far from a cuddle or lap to claim.

They live with us in our small farmhouse where they are raised as companions first and foremost. Our dogs are house dogs, family dogs, and loved members of our everyday life-not outside kennel dogs.
Our Future
The future has already begun for Smitten by Schanuzers.
As of April 2022, we have welcomed several litters and carefully plan to produce no more than three litters per year. Responsible breeding is extremely important to us. With so many wonderful dogs already in shelters and rescues, we believe breeding should always be thoughtful, intentional and ethical.
Our goal is simple: to share the love, companionship, and joy our dogs bring into our home with other families looking for the same connection.

We remain a small, family-focused program, committed to the health, temperament, and well-being of every dog we raise.
